ABV: 10.2%
Purchased at Bottle Revolution, Raleigh, NC for $9.79 for a 11.2oz Bottle.
Brouwerij De Molen “Hel & Verdoemenis” translated, it means “Hell & Damnation.” This is a Russian Imperial Stout.
From the Label: Brewed on 07 March 2011 – Bottled on 11 April 2011 – There were 2080 Bottles from this Batch – Bottle No. 945.
Hel & Verdoemenis poured with a very small, tan head and was an opaque black in color.
The immediate small was alcohol! Additionally, I picked up aromas of roasted malts, dark chocolate and a nice hint of smoke.
The initial heavy taste was sweet and boozey. As it warmed up I enjoyed a strong alcohol/bourbon taste. Additional flavors consisted of dark sweet roasty malts, coffee, dark fruit, oak and burnt caramel. It also had a BBQ-esque smokiness taste to it.
Hel & Verdoemenis had a smooth and creamy mouthfeel.
Fun Fact: De Molen states this beer can be cellared up to 25 years under proper conditions.

Buy Again: Even at the price I paid….Yes, definitely!
Overall Rating: I give Brouwerij De Molen “Hel & Verdoemenis” Russian Imperial Stout a 9.5 out of 10.
